We are the Los Angeles chapter of Association for India's Development, a.k.a. AID. AID is a registered non-profit organization working at the grassroots level for creating a developed India. AID funds and directly works with NGO's doing field work in India in various interconnected areas such as education, livelihoods, health, women's empowerment, social justice and natural resources.

As an AID chapter, we operate in a fairly decentralized manner, with our own budget and our own projects, while having access to the networks, expertise and infrastructure of the parent organization.

We are a bunch of 10 eager and enthusiastic volunteers at present. A few of us are students but most of us are drawn from the community.

We meet around twice a month for discussions and activity planning. These sessions are referred to as Community Service Hour or CSH for short. CSH venues are announced in the group's mailing list.
